$600–1,200
Typical price per session
3–6
Sessions per client, on average
$1,800+

Your own practice

Work for yourself

Work from home, in your own studio, or as a mobile practitioner. The business module covers setup, pricing and marketing, and you leave with the kit to start seeing clients.

A clinic role

Get hired by a clinic

Clinics want practitioners who can assess skin, plan treatments and work to clinical standards. You'll leave certified, with live model experience and the safety training behind it.

Your instructor

Taught by Jaylene

Jaylene runs Wholesome Empire in downtown Calgary with her husband, Tylor. The clinic specialises in advanced scar and stretch mark revision, scalp micropigmentation and aesthetic treatments.

Every technique in this training is one she uses on clients in her own studio. Classes are kept small so she can guide each student through live model work.

Founder · Wholesome Empire

From her clinic clients

“My stretch marks are barely visible unless you’re looking very close compared to the very bright white tiger stripes I had before!”

Audrey Mpuanga, nurse

“What impressed me the most was how natural and effective the results have been. My scars have faded significantly, and my skin texture looks so much smoother.”

Angie Senevirathna

“Her studio is pristine and comfortable, and her attention to detail and results is impeccable.”

Questions

Before you apply

Something not covered here? Ask it in your application, email info@wholesomeempireyyc.com, or call the studio at 587.891.7222.

What is paramedical tattooing?
It uses tattooing and inkless techniques to soften the appearance of scars and stretch marks. This training covers both: camouflage, which blends skin-tone pigment into the area, and inkless revision, which works on texture and tone without ink.
Do I need experience to apply?
No. The program is beginner friendly and open to people with no prior paramedical tattoo experience. Everything is taught from the foundations through to advanced application. Tell us where you're starting from in your application.
Are there any requirements before the training?
You'll need proof of a Bloodborne Pathogen Certification before the first day of class. It's required for safe practice and health compliance when working with skin penetration. It's done online, and we can send you a recommendation.
When and where is the December cohort?
It starts December 4, 2026. Day one is completed from home at your own pace. The three in-person days are in downtown Calgary, Alberta. Accepted students receive the full schedule and studio address.
Will I work on real people?
Yes. The in-person days include live model practice with instructor guidance, so you leave having treated real skin.
Do I get certified?
Yes. On completion you receive certification from Wholesome Empire Inc. / United Academy in Advanced Paramedical Tattoo Training, and you can begin offering services.
What's in the professional kit?
Everything you need to start treating clients: a full pigment line, an advanced cosmetic tattoo pen, medical-grade serum, cartridges and a skin tone reader. It's valued at over $4,000, it's included in your tuition and goes home with you.
How much does it cost? Can I pay over time?
Tuition is $8,450 CAD plus GST. You can pay in full, use a 0% interest payment plan (a small deposit, then scheduled payments), or apply for third-party financing for longer terms. Let us know your preference in the application.
Why is it priced at $8,450?
Tuition includes a professional kit valued at over $4,000, live model experience, your training manual and certification, lifetime mentorship and the student community. Treatments typically sell for $600 to $1,200 per session, and most clients need three to six sessions, so about five clients at the low end covers the cost. Comparable hands-on certifications in the US list for $4,900 to $9,750 USD.
What support do I get after the training?
Lifetime mentorship support, plus access to the private student community for continued learning.
Are meals included?
Yes. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments are provided each in-person day so you can stay focused on learning.
Can international students attend?
Yes. International students are welcome. You'll need to plan travel to Calgary for the three in-person days.
Why is there an application?
With ten seats, we want every student set up to succeed. The application tells us about your background and goals so we can confirm the fit before you commit.
What happens after I apply?
You'll get an email confirming we've received your application. We review it personally and reach out with next steps, including how to secure your seat.
What if December doesn't work for me?
Apply anyway and choose "a future cohort" in the form. We'll be in touch when the next dates are set.
